ACTIVITIES
Hope Lutheran High School offers a vibrant array of activities that foster creativity, teamwork, and personal growth. We believe that these hands-on activities not only enhance academic learning but also contribute to a well-rounded education that prepares students for success in all areas of life!

At Hope Lutheran, we encourage all our students to participate in activities outside of the school day. Each student has the opportunity to learn and grow from experts in their fields and develop into men and women with strong character.
HS CHOIR
This choir is auditioned and open to all students. This choir will work through the basics of music literacy and vocal production. Students who have never sung before, but always wanted to learn will fit right into this class. Students with more experience will find challenges and joy with varied repertoire and singing. This ensemble will tour to local churches to provide music on several Sundays throughout the year.
CHAMBER CHOIR
This choir is an auditioned group of singers that meets three days a week before school. Only the best of the best will be included in this group. These students will be faced with music of increased challenge. These students are strong singers. This group will tour to local churches and provide music on several Sundays throughout the year.
BAND
Students learn to play instruments and work through a variety of etudes, exercises, and concert repertoire. This ensemble is open to students with prior experience. Students without instrumental experience, but who are interested in band may take private lessons for a semester and join the group based on audition.
FFA
Hope Lutheran in one of only two Minnesota private schools with their own Future Farmers of America charter. This organization educates students (7 - 12 grades) on different career available in agriculture. We also emphasis leadership, public speaking, and community outreach.
ATHLETICS
Hope Lutheran offers options for all athletic activities including football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, swimming, nordic skiing, wrestling, and more! For more information about athletics please click here.
HANDBELLS
This class is open to all students, with a special focus on beginner musicians who are eager to explore the world of music through hand chimes and handbells. In this course, students will learn the basics of music theory, including note reading, rhythm, and musical expression, all while developing the unique techniques required for playing in both hand chimes and handbell choirs.
TRAP SHOOTING
Trap shooting offers numerous advantages, including improved focus, discipline, and teamwork. Participating in this sport helps students develop patience and precision while fostering a sense of camaraderie among teammates. Our school excels in trap shooting boosting a dedicated coaching staff that encourages athletes to reach their full potential. With a strong emphasis on safety and skill development, our program not only nurtures talented shooters but also cultivates responsible and respectful individuals.
INTERNATIONAL CLUB
The Hope Lutheran International Students’ Club (ISC) is a club that celebrates the different parts of the world represented by our international students. Our activities include celebrating different countries' national days, planning ways to share about our culture with everyone, planning tours to various places, and volunteering to show our gratitude to our host communities.
INDUSTRIAL ARTS
At our school, we take pride in offering the best industrial arts program in the area, designed to inspire creativity and practical skills in our students. Our curriculum covers a wide range of disciplines, including woodworking, metalworking, and technology, ensuring that students gain hands-on experience state-of-the-art tools and techniques. With a dedicated instructor who is passionate about his craft, we provide a supportive learning environment that encourages innovation and collaboration. Our industrial arts program equips you with the skills needed for a successful future in various industries.
THEATRE
Theatre offers numerous advantages for students, enhanced creativity, improved communication skills, and increased confidence. At our school, we pride ourselves on having the best theatre program in the area, providing students with exceptional opportunities to explore their talents. Our experienced instructors guide students through engaging performances. By participating in our theatre program, students not only develop invaluable skills, but also form lasting friendships and create unforgettable memories.
WRITING CLUB
Hope Lutheran offers an after school writing club. Students are encouraged to be creative through writing. Several projects have included short stories, novels, plays, and songs. Students interested in fostering their creative writing skills should join this group!
PRAISE BAND
Participating in Hope's praise band offers numerous advantages that enrich both personal and communal experiences. It fosters a sense of community as members collaborate to create uplifting music that enhances worship services. Additionally, being part of a praise band allows individuals to develop their musical skills and gain confidence in their abilities. Furthermore, it provides an opportunity to express creativity and connect with others who share similar values and passions, ultimately deepening one's spiritual journey.
